Two months old!

I haven't posted in a while and since I have time I thought I would post twice today! Sorry for the picture overload! I can't believe my baby is already two months old! We went to the doctor last week and she is getting so big! She now weighs 10 pounds and 12 ounces. She got her shots the in one leg and two in the other (the picture is of her little band aides on her legs) . She handled it a lot better than I thought and so did I. She cried initially, but was fine after that. Even though she hasn't been the easiest baby we sure do love the little girl!

Hali's Favorites!

What would we do without the pacifier?!?
Hali loves her daddy

She loves to take naps in her swing.
Her favorite thing by far is taking a bath (she gets it from her mom).
I love dressing her up for church

It is so fun to see Hali's little personality come to life. In the little time that we have had her she has already made it known the things she loves. I should have put the picture of the bath first because there is nothing she loves more. She can be screaming at the top of her lungs and all we have to do is put her in the nice warm bath. It's so funny it is almost like it puts her in another world (as you can see by the glazed over look!) Right up there with the swing is her pacifier. It is both a curse and a blessing! It is the only thing that calms her down and puts her to sleep, however, there have been many nights I've had to keep putting it in her mouth so she will go back to sleep! She has learned to love her swing (she wasn't so sure at first) and she loves taking her daily naps in it. She loves to cuddle with her dad as you can see. The last two pictures are really something I love. I love to get her all dressed up for church. She just looks so cute in her little dresses. Who knew it would be so fun to put clothes on a baby!

Hali's Special Blessing Day

Hali Joan Hoopes
Our happy family!

Our little angel!
Exhausted from her big day!

On Sunday we blessed our beautiful baby Hali! It was such a special day for our little family. I am so excited we can finally share her full name with everyone, Hali Joan Hoopes. We have kept her middle name a secret from mostly the Hoopes side of the family for a very long time. Even before I was pregnant we knew we wanted middle names for our children, so we decided that if we had a little girl her name would be Hali Joan. Joan comes from Travis' grandma (Dan's mom) who past away several years ago - so I never met her. However, both Travis and I have had some very neat spiritual experiences where we just knew she was with us. When we found out we were going to be having a baby girl we just knew without question that her name would be Hali Joan. It was fun to see how surprised everybody was to hear her full name. In fact some people thought Travis just did it without me knowing. They were quite surprised to find out her birth certificate had Hali Joan Hoopes on it!

Travis gave Hali such a beautiful blessing! I was so worried Hali would scream during her blessing so I had a few pacifiers throughout the priesthood circle, however, we didn't even need one of them. My brother said she was awake just looking around as the blessing was being given. We had so many friends and family to share our special day with us. Thank you to all of you who were able to come!

We had a wonderful dinner at the Hoopes house with all different kinds of soups, it was delicious! During the dinner Hali had a total blowout all over her clean white dress! I swear every time I have her all dressed up she loves to leave a her mark on the outfit. With the help of my mom, and some friends we got it all cleaned up so we could get some pictures. Overall, the day couldn't have been any better. I will never forget this day and the special feelings I felt.

First White Dress

The dress maker and the dress model.

I just have to brag on Hali's little blessing dress, isn't is beautiful? My mom made it! I am very lucky she is so talented in sewing! Six years ago when my first nephew was born my mom made his little tuxedo. She then made two dresses for my nieces and two more tuxedos for my other nephews. So you can see the pattern - my mom has gotten herself into a very special tradition. Before Hali was even born my mom and I looked around for material and different things to use on the dress. We also looked at lots of other blessing dresses and ways to make it. My mom brought it yesterday morning before we blessed Hali and I couldn't be any happier with how it turned out. Not only is it beautiful, but it fits like a glove! I think it is such a special thing to tell Hali that her grandma made her little dress! Thanks again mom!
